Glasshouse Country Uniting Church

Believing in Jesus Christ in the 21st century

Location

Glasshouse Country Uniting Church is situated just off Glasshouse Mountains Road in Twin Peaks Drive, Beerwah. Set in picturesque gardens with a back drop of the mountains we certainly feel God's presence and majesty.

Glasshouse Country UC

This building was opened 20th December 2000 and was completed after the merging of the "Railway Towns" Uniting Churches of Glasshouse, Beerwah, Landsborough and Mooloolah.

This year all Churches of the Glasshouse Country Area combined to bring Carols by Candle-light  to the people of Beerwah and surrounds on Saturday 12th December  at the Beerwah Sportsground.

Special carol singing by Seventh Day Adventist band & group started an action packed evening for over 1000 people.

The church on the Rise band and singers plus one from the Baptist church provided a different variety of Carols backed by their band and the combined choirs of The Singing Belles from the Anglican & Catholic churches plus Glasshouse Country UC Ensemble provided a traditional sound.    Special guest singers Leoni and Mutto and some talented 7th Day Adventist children provided more variety for the evening.

Peebo and Dagwood, two clowns from Brisbane were handy to have around to entertain the crowds during the power failure.

The Anglican church ran a Christian Bookstall, the Baptist sold the candles and glowstix and our Uniting Church ran a Craft Stall raising just over $500, while Rotary cooked the sausages and hamburgers.

The candles in cups provided a warm glow as the evening darkened.

A wonderful Family Night to remember Jesus' Birthday.

Fireworks sponsored by Australia Zoo finished the night at 9pm

The next Ecumenical exercise will be a Carols night at Eden Nursing Home in Beerwah 23 Dec.

Vale - Keith Inglis

Our Christmas Day Service was tinged with sadness as one of our congregation, Keith Inglis, was tragically killed in a local car accident two days previous.  Keith, aged 83 was a tireless worker in our church and in the community, being greatly involved in Rotary, Probus and the RSL.  Keith was an avid supporter of our Local Chaplaincy Committee and was lobbying State and Federal Politicians for more funds for Chaplaincy.

Each Sunday morning he was first at the sink to wash up the coffee cups where he chatted with everyone.  He is sadly missed by our congregation and the community.
